Debug Or Die released!
Back at it again!
The 47th installment of Ludum Dare, the legendary global game jam, took place over the weekend and concluded yesterday. After a strenuous 72 hours, Debug Or Die, a 2D programming themed puzzle game, has been released!
The goal of LD47 was to create a game from scratch with the theme “Stuck in a loop”. Naturally, my first thought about being stuck in a loop was related to programming. I decided to make a puzzle game about a programmer that is stuck in a while loop and must break out by positioning command blocks in the correct order to obtain a specific value.
This was my fifth game jam. It was also my longest gap between jams as well as a period where I’ve been doing less game development since starting a new job. I ran out of time (as always) so not everything I intended to include made it in. Regardless, I’m happy I was able to create a challenging puzzle game that’s both fun and educational. As always, I’ll be writing a post-mortem after the voting has concluded.
Debug Or Die runs on PC/Mac/Linux in web browser via WebGL. Take it for a spin and let me know what you think!
